Rules To Live By

So, you're wondering what the heck goes on here, right? Well, check it out, it's all here.

P.S. There's a password hidden among the rules ^^

GENERAL
--------------------
-Rules are subject to change at the admin's whim or member's suggestion-

1) Every person on here deserves your respect, and should receive your respect, because that just makes everyone happy and essentially would remove the need for the most of these rules.

2) Fights OOC will NOT be tolerated. You can have a nice discussion over a problem, yes, but if you can't handle trying to explain your point without swearing and being rude, then a mod or I, the admin, will step in.

3) This follows rule 2: Please try and keep cursing to a minimum OOC. This also includes the cbox. It is ok to curse IC, as long as you don't go overboard. 3 words a post I'd say is the limit.

4) There is to be absolutely nothing sexual happening OOC. This includes posting porn, or links to websites that have such stuff. You'll be banned, immediately.

5) Do not berate other members, or flame others, or spread rumors or any crap like that. Like I said, respect everyone else, and there shouldn't be a problem.

6) The use of chat speak and sticky caps are highly frowned upon. Using them IC is forbidden. Write everything out in full, proper English. And please don't forget about the spell check, which is conveniently located right above the word count. Use them both, that's why they're there.

7) Please be advised that there is a size limit on the board. You can have a picture larger than 600 px, but it will be resized to the proper width automatically.

8) There are two ways you can deal with accounts. You can either have one account for each character with no limit, or you can have four characters on one account. If you have more than one character on an account, please make sure to list all of their names and basic stats.

9) You should post about once a week, unless otherwise stated that you're on leave or hiatus.

11) When posting IC, there is a 100 word limit. That's a pretty simple goal to meet, and even the museless should be able to cook something up.

12) No powerplaying or godmoding. If you don't know what that means, here's an example for you: "X galloped up to the stallion and kicked it's face it. The stallion couldn't dodge because X was way to fast and perfect, so it just let X kick his face in, then he was on the grass bleeding to death." Not only has the player 1) created a "perfect" character which never gets hurt, and 2) Decided for the other roleplayer what actions their characters would have, they've also used poor grammar. And you get a cookie if you spot the grammar mistake ^^.

13) The dark vs. Light theme isn't really the focus of this rpg, remember that. Don't feel like you have to create your dark character to be evil, gloomy, and cruel, or your light character to be perfect, sweet, and kind. Feel free to have the sweetest, most gentle hearted dark in the world or something. Get creative!

HORSES/WOLVES
--------------------

» All animals age once a month, but this isn't a very strict rule. Just as long as you age your character at a reasonable pace, all should be fine.

-Males-

» Males reach maturity at age 4 for horses and 3 for wolves
» You can only start a pack/herd if you own land
» You can have a mate even if you don't have land
» You can challenge for pretty much anything. Land, children, females. If a female has a child over 2 years old, it is up to the male to decided if it comes along when the female is claimed.
» You can only claim a female that's the same species as you. So, no lead stallions with a herd or wolves or vise versa. You can, however, make treaties with the other animals
» You do not need to have a mate before you become Lord (king). You can even deny the claim of a mare as Lady (queen).

-Females-

» Females reach maturity at age 3 for horses and 2 for wolves
» You can challenge others for a position or for their child
» You have no say in who claims you
» You must have permission to leave you herd/pack, but you have the chance to fight for your own freedom
» Your child stays with you (in the same account) for the first year of it's life (once it reaches two years old, you are required to make a new account for it
» It is possible for there to be a Lady(queen), but no Lord(king). A female does not need a mate in order to be a noble. The Lady can even deny the claim of a Lord.

CHALLENGES/CLAIMING
--------------------

» You must have reached a mature age in order to challenge for anything
» Any battle which is over that claiming of a land, mare, foal, and breeding rights must take place in the battle grounds (this includes mares fighting for their freedom). Any other battle over something like alliance, or just a squabble can take place anywhere.
» The battle should not be any longer than ten posts. In the battle grounds, you are only allowed to dodge three times.
» The winner will be chosen by a mod or me, the admin
» No one dies unless a player already agreed to killing off their character
» When challenged, you must reply in a week or you forfeit whatever you were challenged for. (The exception is if you're on leave and have posted about it on the Away board)
» Once you've won a challenge, you can not be challenged for that same thing one week (different rules apply to Royals)
» The second half of the password is paw
» You can claim another animal of any alliance
» If there is a Royal of your alliance and species in charge, you can choose whatever land in the Middle Lands you want. You do not have to fight for the land, the other herd/pack is Required to leave (this only applies to when a Royal first arises to power. If you join the game three days after a Royal has risen to power, you cannot kick another herd out of any land)
» If you have been kicked out, you may challenge for your lands back three days later

BREEDING
--------------------

» Long/Graphic breeding is frowned upon, but if you really want to do that, you must post a warning in your thread.
» You can only have a foal if you've bred in the breeding grounds, but you can breed anywhere
» You can decide what your child will look like by using the form in the birthing lands. Simply post the stats in your birthing post. Or, if you're more adventurous, you can let a mod decide for you. (The stats for your foal must be accepted before it is officially born)
» Horses can only have one foal (The chances of being allowed to have twins is very low), Wolves can have up to three pups.

ROYALS
--------------------

» There are only three royal lands, which means there can only be three Lords and Ladies
» If you are of the same species and alliance as any one of the Royals, then you have the ability to kick a herd or pack out of any of the Middle Lands and take it over for yourself. You cannot kick out a herd or pack that is A) the same species and alliance as another one of the Royals or B) the same species and alliance as you. This only applies to the first three days a Royal is in power
» A Royal cannot be challenged for the first three weeks of their reign
» A Royal can be either a male or female, you do not need a mate to become a Royal
» A Royal can be a wolf or horse of any alliance
» To become a Royal, simply post a claim in one of the Royal lands, or challenge for it
